2014 has not been a good year for Samsung, with the Korean electronics giants underwhelming performance in sales, especially in the smartphone division. At the very end of 2014, Samsung has received a shining light in the form of 36 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2015 Innovation Awards for a range of its products.
The CES is internationally renowned and the world’s largest consumer technology trade show held annually by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). The event will be held from January 6th to 9th next year at the Las Vegas Convention Centre in the US. And Samsung has been a regular star of the show. Surprisingly, Samsung has received 12 more awards compared to its last appearance at CES 2014 earlier this year. Of the 36 awards, they received two Best of Innovation awards and four Eco-Design honors.
Samsung has garnered the awards across 10 of the available 29 categories of products in CES, including TV, Tablet, Mobile and Memory to name a few. Among the winners were the flagship Galaxy S5, phablets Galaxy Note Edge and Note 4, the smartwatch Gear S and even the tablets Galaxy Tab S 10.5-inch and Tab S 8.4-inch. Other notable mentions are the Gear VR, the 850 PRO solid state drive and the 4GB LPDDR4 Mobile DRAM. For a full list of awards, check out Samsung Tomorrow for the details.
All in all, the CES 2015 awards will be a great start for 2015 for Samsung. And we are pretty sure this is not the last we will see of them at the world’s largest consumer electronics trade show.
