Spotify is, without a doubt, a giant in the music streaming industry with about 31% market share. It’s a position of dominance that has solidified its place as the go-to platform for countless listeners.

However, Spotify seems to be on a roll with pricing increases. Barely two years after its previous pricing increase, the company has announced in a blog post that there will be an upcoming increase in subscription prices. This increase will be happening in multiple regions, including Asia Pacific, which also covers Southeast Asia. Let’s not forget that the company only recently reduced the number of subscriptions included in the Family Plan from 6 to 4 people.
This new price hike isn’t limited to a few markets; it’s a global strategy that’s affecting multiple regions, including key countries here in Southeast Asia. For many, these increases represent a jump of between 10% and 15% on average for their monthly subscriptions.
