We’ve all been there. Your inbox is overflowing with promotional emails, newsletters, and updates from mailing lists you might not even remember signing up for. Unsubscribing from them one by one is a tedious chore that often gets pushed to the bottom of the to-do list. Now, Google is rolling out a new feature in Gmail designed to tackle this problem head-on, making it significantly easier to manage your subscriptions and reclaim your inbox.
This new tool, simply called “Manage subscriptions” centralises all your mailing lists into a single, convenient location within the Gmail app. You can find it in the navigation drawer on the side of the app, right alongside your other labels like “Inbox,” “Sent,” and “Spam”.

Once you tap into it, Gmail presents you with a list of all the senders it has identified as subscriptions. The feature intelligently filters this list to show you senders that have sent you more than 10 emails in the last three months, focusing on the most frequent mailers first. The subscriptions are displayed in a clean card-based view, showing you the sender’s name and an example of a recent email.
The most powerful part of this feature is the simplicity it brings to the unsubscribe process. Next to each subscription in the list is a prominent “Unsubscribe” button. With a single tap, you can unsubscribe from a mailing list without having to open an email, scroll to the bottom, and find the tiny unsubscribe link. Gmail handles the request for you, streamlining what used to be a multi-step hassle into a one-tap action.
This feature is rolling out now on Android and is expected to come to iOS in the coming months. It’s a thoughtful quality-of-life improvement that directly addresses a common pain point for email users. By making it so much easier to see and manage all your subscriptions in one place, Google is giving you a powerful tool to finally take control of your inbox clutter.
