Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S series Gets Supersized & Imbued with Galaxy AI

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S series is getting its BIG follow-up – emphasis on the BIG there. The new Tab S10 series seems to be skipping the vanilla Tab S10 and jumping straight to the Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra. This year, the focus seems to be on supersizing the series – both in size and with Galaxy AI.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 71

The two new tablets, the Galaxy Tab S10+ and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra are both coming with an interesting change when it comes to processors. Both are equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ which is paired with 12GB of RAM across the board. Yes, both the Tab S10+ and the Tab S10 Ultra come with the same configuration. We asked Samsung about these changes, however, they have yet to comment on it. That said, the Dimensity 9300+ does hold its own when it comes to power and power efficiency if its track record is anything to go by.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 47

The Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra are getting super-sized displays. The Tab S10+ comes with a 12.4-inch display while the Ultra is getting a huge 14.6-inch display. Both are high-resolution Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with resolutions of 2800×1752 pixels and 2960×1848 pixels respectively. Both are anti-reflective and also support a 120Hz refresh rate.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 59

In addition to this, Samsung’s latest tablets are more durable than last year. While they still come with Armour Aluminium, they have been hardened for added toughness. Both are also IP68 dust and water-resistant making rain and spillage a non-issue. They also come with Harman Kardon calibrated sound.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 65

Hardware-wise, the tablets’ only other differentiating factor is the camera setup of the Tab S10+ and the Tab S10 Ultra – specifically the front-facing camera. The Ultra comes with a dual 12-megapixel setup while the Tab S10+ comes with a single 12-megapixel sensor. On the back, both tablets come with a dual camera setup with a 13-megapixel main sensor complemented by an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor.

Supersized Screens Imbued with Galaxy AI

The larger screens of the Galaxy Tab S10 and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra are perfect surfaces for a supersized Galaxy AI experience. Samsung is bringing even more emphasis to this with a dedicated Galaxy AI button on the keyboard covers. This button can be mapped to launch Galaxy AI or Google’s Gemini.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 54

When it comes to Galaxy AI, the Tab S10 series will be setting the full suite of features that we’ve seen in flagship Galaxy devices. This will include Circle to Search which is supercharged with the larger screen allowing it to show even more data, voice transcription, automatic note formatting and more. Of course, like other Galaxy devices, these features work with a select number of apps with more to come as compatibility is built-in later on.

Pricing & Availability

The Galaxy Tab S10+ and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra will be available in Malaysia on October 3, 2024. The S10+ will be available in Moonstone Gray and Platinum Silver while the S10 Ultra will only be available in Moonstone Gray. Purchases of any of the tablets will entitle you to a free Book Cover Keyboard Slim (Galaxy AI Key).

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Makes Galaxy AI Even More Affordable with RM3,299 Price Point

Samsung is really going all in when it comes to Galaxy AI this year. The company’s focus seems to be carving a dedicated niche for Galaxy AI in its flagship Galaxy devices. That isn’t changing with the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE or Fan Edition. The phone comes with what Samsung officially refers to as the “Full” Galaxy AI experience. If that’s anything to go by, we are about to see a lot more variation in the Galaxy AI experiences across the Galaxy devices.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE 6

So, what exactly comes under the hood with the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE? This year, the company is striving for parity with the S24 series when it comes to internals. Of course, parity in this case doesn’t outdo the S24. That said, the S24 FE is coming with a slightly downclocked version of the Exynos 2400 called the Exynos 2400e. While it may seem that it may be an intentional handicap to the S24 FE, the smartphone is getting a larger vapour chamber than the S23 FE which will allow for better cooling and better performance. The S24 FE is also getting a major bump when it comes to the battery with a larger 4,700mAh battery. It will also have 8GB of RAM.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE 4

Display-wise, the new Fan Edition comes with a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with support for HDR10+. It’s also coming with the same camera setup as the S24 and S24+. The S24 FE has a triple sensor setup for its main camera with a 50-megapixel wide sensor, a 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor and an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor which supports 3x optical zoom. Up front is a 10-megapixel selfie camera. Together with the hardware, the S24 FE is also getting the same ProVisual engine that comes with the flagship S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra. This engine allows you to take the same quality Nightography pictures that have made previous Galaxy S series phones stand out. It also supports Super HDR.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE 1

The phone also still supports fast charging at 25W. Samsung is touting that you’ll be able to get a 50% charge in 30 minutes of charging. It also supports wireless power share and fast wireless charging

A Fan Edition with the Full Suite of Galaxy AI

While the Galaxy S24 FE is the more affordable edition of this year’s Galaxy flagship, Samsung is not cutting any corners with Galaxy AI. In fact, they’re touting that this phone will have the “FULL” Galaxy AI experience. What this means is that features that we’ve seen in other Galaxy Flagships like the Galaxy S24 series and the Galaxy Z series will be coming in all its AI glory to the S24 FE.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE 5

You’ll be able to use features like Circle to Search, Voice to text transcription and even Live translate on the Galaxy S24 FE. All these features and more will be available on the S24 FE with One UI 6.1 at launch. That said, it seems like Galaxy AI will be coming to other smartphones in a more limited capacity later on with how Samsung is presenting this smartphone.

Pricing & Availability

The Galaxy S24 FE will be available in Mint, Grey, Graphite and Blue at launch. It will be available in 2 variations in Malaysia based on its internal storage. The 256GB version of the FE will be retailing for RM3,299 while the 512GB version will be retailing for RM3,899.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE 8

Internationally, the Galaxy S24 FE will retail for USD$649.99 for the 128GB version and USD$709.99 for the 256GB version.

It is available on the official Samsung website right now.

Bowers & Wilkins Unveils New True Wireless Earbuds Line Up with the Pi6 & Pi8

Bowers & Wilkins is expanding its earbuds lineup with two new entries. The new True Wireless earbuds – the Pi6 and Pi8 – are designed by the same team behind the category-leading Px7 S2e and Px8 headphones and represent a new leap forward from the previous Pi7 S2.

Bowers & Wilkins Pi6: Taking a Swing with Affordable, Premium Sound and Superlative Comfort

The Pi6 is the more affordable option of the two, designed to deliver excellent sound, features, and performance at a competitive price point. The company touts that the buds will be on par with the previous Pi7 S2.

BW Pi8PDP 2 Column 795104 1 min webp

The new wireless earbuds come with an unnamed advanced Qualcomm Chipset for improved wireless stability and reliable connectivity. The same chipset enables Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity with Multipoint for connecting to two devices simultaneously. It also allows the Pi6 to stream high-quality audio at 24-bit and 96KHz with aptX Adaptive Wireless Transmission.

Screenshot 2024 09 23 at 18 03 09 Pi6 In Ear True Wireless Earbuds Bowers & Wilkins

The Pi6 isn’t just about chipset and transmission technologies either, it also leverages 12mm Bio-cellulose Drive Units that allow for crisper high frequencies and fuller sound. The drive units also allow for brighter sounds and better audio clarity. The earbuds come with up to 8 hours of usage on a single charge with ANC on. You’ll be able to top this up twice with the case. The buds can get 2 hours of playback on 15 minutes of charge thanks to fast charge support and it’s even got IP54 water and dust resistance.

Bowers & Wilkins Pi8: The New Flagship B&W Sound

Together with the Pi6, Bowers & Wilkins are reimagining its flagship sound when it comes to wireless earbuds with the Pi8. The new flagship one-up the Pi6 will be taking the spotlight from the Pi7 S2 with updated performance and features compared to the Pi6.

BW 2 Column Pi8 795104 2 min webp

The Pi8 is gunning for higher quality and fuller sound with 12mm Carbon Cone Drive Units. These units allow the earbuds to reproduce sound with exceptional accuracy and depth. The earbuds support aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless Support over Bluetooth 5.4.

In addition to this, they come with a dedicated DSP, DAC, and Amplification that allow for high-resolution audio with support for up to 32-bit audio. You’ll also be able to personalise your sound with a User-Adjustable 5-Band EQ that will be accessible from the Bower & Wilkins app.

Screenshot 2024 09 23 at 18 02 47 Pi8 In Ear True Wireless Earbuds Bowers & Wilkins

The Pi8 comes with a smart charging case that supports wireless charging. However, the high-quality sound does take a little bit of a toll on the battery life. The Pi8 has up to 6.5 hours of playback time on a single charge with ANC on. You’ll be able to get another 13.5 hours with the casing.

Improved Design and User Experience

Both Pi6 and Pi8 benefit from a comprehensive design overhaul, focusing on comfort, usability, and aesthetics. The new design is created ergonomically for a wider range of ear shapes and sizes. However, it also maintains its stemless design that is now iconic of B&W.

The wider earbuds also come with improved touch controls that provide more responsive and reliable interactions. They also come with IR Proximity sensors that allow for more accurate wear detection. The earbuds also have enhanced antenna placement to prevent accidental blockages and disconnects.

Both models also prioritize call quality with strategically placed microphones for clear voice calls. Additionally, they boast advanced noise cancellation technology. The Pi6 utilizes the same noise-rejection platform as the Pi7 S2, offering effective noise cancellation. However, the Pi8 adopts the noise cancellation technology found in the flagship Px8 headphones for industry-leading performance.

The new Pi6 and Pi8 are also Google Fast Pair and Made for iPhone certified for platform agnosticism and better compatibility across both Android and Apple devices.

Pricing & Availability

The Bowers & Wilkins Pi6 and Pi8 will be available in Malaysia from October onwards.

The Pi6 will be available in Storm Grey, Cloud Grey, Forest Green, and Glacier Blue. It will be priced at RM1,399. Internationally, it’s priced at USD$249.

The Pi8 will be available in Anthracite Black, Dove White, and Midnight Blue. The Jade Green colourway will be available at a later date. It will be priced at RM2,399. Internationally, it is priced at USD$399.

Both models will be available for purchase through the TC Acoustic web store and the physical TC store – Sonos Concept Store by TC Acoustic – in Starhill Gallery, Kuala Lumpur.
