Smart Eye receives two additional design wins from Korean OEM

STOCKHOLM, Oct. 15, 2020Smart Eye has been selected to deliver its driver monitoring software to an existing customer for two car models on an additional platform. The combined life-time order value of the two contracts is estimated to 100 MSEK. The potential value from additional design wins on the new platform exceeds 500 MSEK.

Smart Eye, a world-leading producer of AI-powered eye tracking technology for semi-autonomous cars, announces two additional contracts with a global Korean OEM. The new nomination extends Smart Eye’s driver monitoring systems to two car models, on top of the 14 previously communicated design wins with the customer. The agreement also expands the functionality of the driver monitoring systems with additional advanced safety features.

Production of the premium car models containing Smart Eye’s technology will begin in late 2021. The estimated revenue for the two models is 100 MSEK, based on product life cycle volume projections.

With the two new contracts, Smart Eye has received a total of 83 design wins from 12 OEMs. The combined estimated lifetime value from current design wins is now larger than 2.100 MSEK. The potential of securing more car models on the new platforms is at least another 500 MSEK. Estimated value over the product lifecycle from possible additional design wins with existing car manufacturers on existing platforms is now 3.800 MSEK.

The 3rd Smart City International Symposium will be held in collaboration between South Korea and UK

SEOUL, South Korea, Oct. 15, 2020 — The Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancement (KAIA) is collaborating with the UK to bring its annual "The 3rd Smart City International Symposium" to take place virtually on October 14-15, 2020.

This event will be hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT), the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT), and Incheon Metropolitan City, organized by the Korea Land, Infrastructure and Transport Promotion Agency (KAIA) and the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZ), and sponsored by the British Embassy Seoul, the UK Ministry for International Trade (DIT).

Also Marvin Rees, the Mayor of Bristol, UK will be providing a keynote speech of "Connecting Bristol : our Smart City approach".

A number of influential smart city experts in the UK will be presenting at the symposium, including representatives from: AI-specialized company Unmanned Life, Isansys Lifecare, the British Standards Association (BSI) which leads international standards for smart cities, and the British government’s mobility innovation agency Connected Places Catapult (CPC).

Especially this year, due to the pandemic outbreak of COVID-19, "Post Corona" session will be prepared to discuss new lifestyles and standards of the world beyond the crisis.

We wanted to make products that not only work great but also have radical, provoking design, conveying our messages to the worldwide community. Thus, we made ‘DROP-IT’ and ‘CYBERBOARD’."

Joker-Inspired Cyberpunk Aesthetic Design

Angry Miao’s community loves the rebellious spirit of JOKER and that’s why this unique product was designed. Inspired by the Joker, one of the most famous villains in the comics, "DROP-IT" features several neon green LED lights glittering around the station in psychedelic purple. Seeing through the translucent glass, the 22 purple coils are meant to provide a striking visual impact. 

Moreover, the active-cooling silent turbofan matches the green LED, reminding users of the Joker shuffling in the dark night. The cyberpunk aesthetic from the CYBERBOARD has continued. 

22-coil Omni Position + Single-coil Magnetic Wireless Charge

With regard to functionality, the 22 full surface coils means that people can drop their devices on the superstation freely, without the need to double-check every time to make sure that their devices are really charging. Four devices, e.g. iPhone, Androids, AirPods, TWS, and other Qi-supported devices can all be charged wirelessly at the same time. 

"DROP-IT" also comes with a magnetic single-coil charger on the side, which is specifically designed for the iPhone 12 series to satisfy the die-hard Apple fans.
