Moto X and Moto G, 1st Generation will get some new features
With the announcement of the new headsets in Chicago from Motorola, Moto users also got a roll out of new software features. But if you’re an existing owner of the Moto X and Moto G, you’re not going to be left out! You will be able to get your hands on these new upgrades including the Moto Voice and a better Moto Assist.
Motorola’s vice president of product management announced on Google+ that Motorola has “…all new and improved software features across the board which make these devices work even better and better still, all that software will come to all our existing users too.” Basically, the company is trying to say to all the owners who own older devices, the company has your back. You will be receiving new features and be part of the excitement.
There is one catch. You can get new features if your older gadget supports it. There’s no point in the company adding new upgrades to your older phone if it’s not going to be able to work properly and cause you to have a bad user experience.
For the devices such as the Moto X and Moto G that do support it, you can expect the new Moto Voice, updates to Moto Assist, Moto Display and the Gallery app.
Users will most probably receive the updates when the newest Android L is released by the end of the year. We’re not expecting the company to push updates for a soon to be old KitKat version of Android.
