XiaoMi Mi Band coming to Malaysia
Ever thought of owning a fitness band but the price tags get you down? Well fret not because the XiaoMi Mi Band will be coming to Malaysia on the 16th of December.
Tis’ the season to be jolly for XiaoMi indeed as the Chinese electronics giants have been very active in the Malaysian market this month. They have recently announced the launch of their Redmi Note 4G and their brand new 16 000 mAh Mi Power Bank, with both devices retailing at prices that are easy on the pockets. Sticking to the theme of affordability, XiaoMi is now retailing the Mi Band at the surprisingly low price of RM59.
The Mi Band offers all the functionality a fitness tracker should have. It has an array of sensors that can keep track of key fitness information including steps taken, calories burnt and can even monitor your sleep patterns. The band is hypoallergenic and the detachable core is made from an aluminium alloy with the device being IP67 certified to be water resistant. For customization, the band can be interchanged easily as there are several colors available including black, green, blue, red and yellow.
On top of the fitness band features, the Mi Band also brings about a host of other impressive features. It has a silent alarm system that vibrates to wake you up. It works well with any Android 4.4 and up device but to fully unlock its potential, it is best used with a MIUI running device. When paired with a MIUI device, it will vibrate when there is a notification and more impressively, it has a proximity unlock feature where you can unlock your device by bringing your band close to the device.
For now, the Mi Band will only retail as part of the fitness bundle under XiaoMi. No indication has been given if it will be selling on its own. But for a price like that, XiaoMi’s Mi Band is definitely a steal.
