XiaoMi is looking to launch it’s very own Fitness Tracker
It looks like the Apple of China is not resting anytime soon! XiaoMi has a reputation of making affordable devices and cloning existing devices in the markets.
But this has not been the current trend for the Chinese company who now look to design and make its own little gadgets. Not only is the company trying to produce unique hardware, it is selling the gadgets dirt cheap. XiaoMi have made a good name for itself for the smartphones such as the RedMi and Mi 3 that it has been churning out. Recent reports however have stated that the growing Chinese typhoon is now looking to release its very own fitness tracker.
The fitness tracker like all the other existing XiaoMi products, will be very affordable. Rumor has it, the device will go as cheap as $32 (199 Yuan) in China. Although the company has never been known for innovative and creative gadgets, we are expecting some form of XiaoMi trademark to be on the device. However, the reality is XiaoMi will most probably get its ‘inspiration’ from other competitors such as FitBit and Jawbone the first time around. The end result will very likely be a copy of the basic fitness tracker already existing in the market. What will make it special is the price of course.
XiaoMi has been focusing on locations where the price matters, not the brand so don’t expect these gadgets to be released in markets such as the US for now. The company recently announced that it will be expanding its sales to India, Brazil, Russia, Turkey and Mexico.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, this company is definitely here to make its arrival known to the whole industry. The other companies better watch out!
