Windows Phone users won’t get Snapchat anymore
Bad news for Windows Phone users, Snapchat decided to shut down some third-party clients like 6snap and some other unauthorized clients that was designed for Microsoft. And most of these platform are being removed from the Windows Phone Store. Unlike Android and iOS, the third-party Snapchat clients are supported officially. But unfortunately there is no Snapchat app for Windows Phone, that is why most users rely on third-party options.
6snap developer, Rudy Huyn tweeted that, “6snap has disappeared as well as all Snapchat apps on Windows Phone Store. I will work closely with Microsoft now to convince Snapchat to change their mind.” Back in November, the SnapSave app was hacked and thousands of photos of users were leaked and posted online, that is why Snapchat undertook the third-party clients down. Snapchat started emailing developers to inform them that they are taking action against unauthorized clients.
Snapchat also advised their users that if they are still using the unofficial clients, their accounts will be locked. Unfortunately, when Snapchat made the move in removing the unofficial clients, they started losing a lot of users which has no access to the app any more. Snapchat also includes that there are no promises of an unofficial Windows Phone app any time in the future.
For Windows Phone users, let us know what do you think about Snapchat removing the unofficial and unauthorized clients for Snapchat? Will this effect your photo sharing moment?
