Is Sonos planning Android Wear Support?
Some companies are making the jump to smartwatch apps to start controlling smart homes and appliances. Sonos is the latest company to join the trend but it seems that the company might be holding back just a little.
A beta user has revealed the image above in the Sonos forums and alleges it to be a Sonos notification for Android Wear. The user explains that the device also is equipped to do playback, including play, pause, skip forward, and jump back.
Smart home appliances or any network connected home features for that matter have been looking to move away from traditional remote controls for the more hip and trendy smartwatch control. Some are offering both smartphone apps and remote controls to bring more functionality. It would be amazing to stop losing remote controls in between couches and just be able to control the tv set with a swipe of the wrist.
We’re still unsure how the final Sonos Android Wear app will look like. As you see above, the volume control button is missing from the image. We’re hoping it’s much better than what we see in the photo.
