Samsung has been one of the only companies that have stayed committed to the tablet market. The company has been updating their flagship Galaxy Tab S line up regularly equipping the tablet with more and more compelling features with each iteration. The Samsung Galaxy Tab family also has a mid range variant which has been a boon to those looking for a better, more portable entertainment experience. The Galaxy Tab A series was also one of the first tablets in Samsung’s arsenal to carry the company’s signature S Pen functionality before it came to the Tab S3 and the current Tab S4. Following the announcement of the Tab S4 at Samsung’s Unpacked event in London, the company is now bringing the premium tablet and its entry level sibling to Malaysia.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S4
This year’s flagship tablet in Samsung’s arsenal brings updated specifications and also a standalone DeX experience which ups the tablet’s productivity value. The Galaxy Tab S4 is geared to help the power user be more productive on the go; with the S Pen and the extended DeX functionality, the Tab S4 is looking to be your go to device for productivity on the go.
The new Galaxy Tab S4 is powered by an Octa-core (8-core) Snapdragon 835 clocked at 2.36GHz. This is supplemented with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. You’re able to add a further 512GB through the microSD card slot.
The display on the Tab S4 is a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1600×2560 pixels. The screen has pixel density of 286 pixels per inch (ppi) which makes it suited for both productivity and leisure. The screen is complemented by AKG tuned speakers with Dolby Atmos sound technology which should provide an even more immersive experience for users.
Also coming along for the ride is the company’s signature S pen which allows for annotations, note taking and even illustrations on the go. The S Pen also works with apps such as Adobe Illustrator Draw and Autodesk Sketchbook for creatives to take advantage of. Also part of the appeal is the keyboard case (sold separately) which turns the Galaxy Tab S4 into a viable laptop replacement for you to do work on the go. The Tab S4’s Charging dock POGO also makes it a versatile addition to a smart home. It would be able to seamlessly transition between productivity device and home control console with the SmartThings Connectivity.
