Samsung Unleashes the First Ever Quantum Dot Curved Gaming Monitor in Malaysia
Samsung Electronics is no stranger to Display technologies. However, in the Malaysian front, the South Korean company has been noticeably quiet when it came to bringing their industry-leading technologies to the computer gaming arena. That changes today with the announcement of their award winning Quantum Dot Curved Gaming Monitor, the CFG70. The CFG70 will be available in 24-inch and 27-inch models beginning with its preorder starting today (19 January 2017).
“Our Quantum Dot display gaming monitor creates an unprecedented visual experience that no gamer has ever experienced.” – Lee Sang Hoon, President of Samsung Malaysia Electronics
The new Quantum Dot Curved Gaming monitor brings with it the same display technology we are used to seeing in their popular home television line up. The CFG70 gaming monitor comes with the company’s 8-bit vertically aligned (VA) panels which boast an amazing 1ms moving picture response rate (MPRT). With their industry leading technologies backed in, the monitor is capable of producing a much wider sRGB gamut. In fact, it is capable reproducing 125% of the gamut thanks to the Quantum Dot technology which Samsung has pioneered in the industry. This technology allows the monitor to reproduce deeper reds and greens which enable CFG70 Curved Gaming Monitor to have better contrast and achieve the increased 125% colour reproduction. The increased contrast is evident in the 3000:1 static contrast ratio as well as the increased detail in gaming graphics.
The CFG70 is also capable of a refresh rate of 144Hz allowing it to keep up with the most complex changes on screen during gameplay. The high refresh rate also complements the gaming monitor’s impressive 1800R curvature. The curvature allows gamers to get a more immersive 178° viewing ultra-wide viewing angle. Samsung claims that the curvature “is formatted to match the natural curve of the human eye.” Complementing this is a LED setup which is able to interact with the soundscape of games for an even more immersive “lifelike” experience. The gaming monitor also comes with AMD FreeSync technology which allows the monitor to seamlessly synchronise refresh rates with settings of any AMD graphics processor.
Rounding up the experience is an optimised “user-friendly” user experience which Samsung believes will allow users to have better access to customisable and easily accessible game management. The CFG70 Gaming Monitor includes a dedicated gaming interface with an intuitive settings dashboard which allows for quick customisation and personalization of the display settings during gameplay. This customisation complements the factory calibration which has already optimised the settings for various different game genres.
The Monitors will be available on preorder starting the 19th of January until the 26th of January exclusively on LAZADA. The first 100 customers will also be eligible for a surprise gift worth RM264. You’ll be able to walk into any store to purchase the gaming monitor starting 27th January 2017. The 24-inch version retails for RM1,699 while the 27-inch version will retail for RM2,099.
