Razer Announces Android TV Powered “Micro-Console”
Razer has announced that it will be joining the connected entertainment market by releasing it’s first ever Android TV powered micro-console. Razer’s micro-console will be aimed to gamers and is set to hit the market later this fall. The micro-console will able to stream movies and music.
Min-Liang Tan, Razer’s CEO and founder explained that consumers will be able to play hardcore games as well as the usual laid back type of games as well. He did not go into detail about the precise hardware of the device or pricing but ensured that it will be an affordable purchase.
What we can pick up on the hints the company did let go is that the device will sport voice-guided navigation. Also, Razer explained that users will be able to control the micro-console with special mobile apps available for Android tablets and smartphones. And we’re expecting design standards as those on the Razer Blade, the Razer Edge and Project Christine as the the same design team will be working on this current project.
There hasn’t been much confirmed information about the gadget as everything is still in the works. The name for the micro-console has yet to be finalized as well. We’ll just have to be patient for more details. Hopefully, we’ll get a bit more of the juicy details as the launch date gets closer.
