Nokia Devices Leak
After being purchase by Microsoft, Nokia’s device line seems to be leaking a lot.
Images of an unknown metal clad Lumia device have surfaced on Chinese social network, WeiBo. The images were first picked up by Chineese blog WPDang. They say that a separate source has confirmed that the device is the Lumia 830, Nokia’s next mid-range device. The device is speculated to be the rumoured Tesla/Superman, which is expected to launch in the U.S. with telco carriers AT&T and Verizon later this year. It looks like the device takes a lot of its design cues from the recent Nokia Lumia Icon (released in Malaysia as the Nokia Lumia 930). However, the camera on the back of the device reminds us more of the Lumia Pureview devices.
Microsoft is also said to be working on a successor to the Lumia 1020 codenames McLaren which may pull a Kindle Fire Phone and come with 3D gesture controls and could pack a 2K 5.2-inch display, 41 MegaPixel camera and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 Quad Core Processor. The device pictured seems to fit this bill more than the mid-range Superman or Tesla.
A freshly leaked document shows that there are three “Nokia by Microsoft” devices slated for release in the next few weeks. The first device slated for release sometime in August carrying the model number RM-1017. While the other two, RM-984 and RM-1028 may release sometime in September. It is likely that these devices may be the rumoured McLaren and Tesla/Superman devices which are expected to spearhead the incoming line of devices by Nokia.
