New Galaxy Alpha Leaks and Launch Details!
Samsung’s first metallic device, the Galaxy Alpha, is primed for release on Wednesday, August 13, (Thursday, August 18 – Malaysian Time) according to SamMobile. However, that didn’t stop the leaks coming. The full specifications and price of the device was leaked by an European retailer. According to the retailer, the device will come with a 4.7-inch 720p HD Super AMOLED display with a 12-Megapixel shooter and a 2.1-Megapixel front facing camera. In addition, the device is supposedly coming with all the connectivity you will need including Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and WiFi.
These rumours have been supported with a data sheet from the back of what is claimed to be a retail box of the Galaxy Alpha with additional information which claims that there will be 4G LTE connectivity as well. The device is also rumoured to come with 32GB of internal storage with no microSD expandability. However, another rumour claims that there will be a 64 GB variant of the device and that the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 805 instead of the rumoured Exynos 5433 with 2 GB of RAM. The device was also hinted to be priced at a whopping £549 (RM 2450/USD $920)
However, it seems like there may have been an event in Russia yesterday which looks like a launch event for the Galaxy Alpha. Nonetheless, pictures from the event look like Samsung may have been sponsoring an event with the Galaxy Alpha brand. We will have details when there is official word of the device launch.
