Microsoft’s Surface Mini Enters Production for Summer launch
According to the tweet by @evleaks on July 7th, the Microsoft Surface Mini is back in production and will be expected for a release in summer.
Rumors of the Surface Mini surfaced in May after Microsoft invited journalists to a small gathering in New York City. But other than that, we have yet to see this mysterious device.
The Surface Mini is to be a smaller version of the Surface Pro 3, a tablet equipped with a 12-inch screen, a 2160 x 1440 resolution, an Intel Core i5 processor, and 8GB of memory. However, the gadget was scrapped after the company realized it wasn’t diverse enough from what competitors had on the market.
The Surface Mini may have resurfaced so Microsoft could penetrate a lower end market with consumers who are only willing to pay a small sum for a tablet. Whatever the reason, reps from the company have refused to comment or release an official statement.
