iPhone 6 strategy to get rid of competition
So, we’ve been hearing that Apple will be launching the Apple iPhone 6 larger variant 5.5 inch at a later date due to production issues. However, could this actually be a marketing strategy by the company instead?
It seems that the tech giant actually wants a later launch date for the larger variant to minimize competition between the two models. This is totally different from the action plan the company had for the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c. A source informed Digitimes that “the different timetables have been set as Apple does not want to repeat the mistake it made in 2013 when it launched the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c simultaneously.”
This comes as a shock as Apple isn’t known for panic attacks over cannibalization of its own products so long as folks are buying its hardware. And what’s the funniest thing? If the 5.5 inch variant launches later, it will likely be alongside the iPad Mini. Won’t this be much more of an in house competition especially with the similar screen sizes? Ain’t nobody going to buy both an iPad Mini and an iPhone 6 that look almost the same!
The Apple iPhone 6 has been in the spotlight constantly with crazy amount of leaks! Just look, we have yet another leak for you right below!
What you see above is leaks images of what alleges to be the Apple iPhone 6’s flex cables courtesy of Nowhereelse. This adds to pile of photos we have already seen regarding this part of the phone. These images include a possible look at the home button cables from both iPhone 6 models. The photos show two different designs for the part, each with a square section for the Touch ID sensor but distinct from the iPhone 5s part.
The other leaked image shows a flex cable with the ambient light/proximity sensors and a microphone. The corresponding part from the iPhone 5s includes the device’s FaceTime camera, but the camera is not included on the purported iPhone 6 cable.
